EXPERIENCED HORSE CARE ASSISTANT – CASUAL POSITION
I’m looking for an experienced, confident and reliable horse person to join my expanding Horse Care business.
This role involves providing professional Horse Care Visits to clients, so applicants must already have solid horse handling experience and be comfortable working independently.

In Her Horse Era provides professional, personalised horse care services to busy horse owners across Adelaide and surrounding regions.
The business is built on trust, reliability and high-quality care. Clients rely on us to look after their horses as if they were our own – whether it’s daily care visits, show preparation, grooming or washing, or short-term support while owners are away.
I’m looking for a team member who shares the same standards and passion for excellent horse care, and who takes pride in delivering a professional and dependable service.
This is a growing business, and the right person will play an important role in providing consistent, high-level care to valued clients.
POSITION DETAILS
Casual role: 1–3 mornings per week, and some weekend work (when required)
Opportunity for additional shifts as the business grows (it’s growing by the minute!)
Must be available for:
Early mornings (from 6:00am)
Afternoons
Some weekends
Hours vary depending on client bookings
Work will be completed independently at client properties (once deemed competent)
DUTIES MAY INCLUDE
Independent Horse Care Visits
Feeding and water checks
Rugging or fly mask changes or applications
Mucking out stables / paddocks
Grooming and washing horses
Light exercise or lunging
General handling and day-to-day horse care
Assisting with show preparation when required
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
Applicants must have:
Proven horse handling experience
Confidence working with a variety of horses and temperaments
Ability to work alone and follow detailed care plans
Reliable, punctual and trustworthy nature
Strong attention to detail
Are teachable and are willing to follow business standards.
Good communication skills
Physical fitness for manual work
Own transport and a valid driver’s licence
Willingness to travel to different client properties
THIS ROLE WOULD SUIT SOMEONE WHO IS:
An experienced horse owner
A rider with practical horse care experience
A former stable hand or groom
Someone studying equine or animal care
Looking for flexible casual work in the horse industry
THIS ROLE IS NOT SUITABLE FOR YOU IF:
You have little or no hands-on horse handling experience
You are looking for a “learn on the job” position
You are not confident handling horses independently
Early mornings and weekend availability don’t suit you
You are uncomfortable working alone at client properties
You’re not physically able to handle manual tasks
You need guaranteed set hours every week
You’re only looking for short-term work
This position requires someone who can step in with confidence, follow instructions accurately, and represent the business professionally from day one.
PAY STRUCTURE
Please note: this position is paid per service, not per hour.
Each Horse Care Visit is allocated a set rate based on the service provided.
Successful applicants will be paid above standard award rates, with pay reflecting experience and responsibility.
This structure rewards efficiency, reliability and high-quality work, and is ideal for someone looking for flexible, well-paid casual hours within the equine industry.

Servicing: Adelaide + surrounding regions.
