What Does a Typical Horse Care Visit Look Like?

Horse Care Visits are ideal for owners seeking support with their day-to-day care routine, feeding, water checks or refills, and general welfare checks — while knowing their horse(s) are being cared for attentively and responsibly. Real-time updates are included with every booking!

While ‘In Her Horse Era’ provides a consistently high standard of care, each visit is fully customisable to suit your routine and the individual needs of your horse(s).

How This Service Works

When you require a Horse Care Visit, simply fill in the form below (at the bottom of this page). Here, you’ll select the services you require for your visit, and within 24 hours you’ll receive a Uniquely Customised Quote based on what you require for your Horse Care Visit/s.

Each Horse Care Visit starts at $50, giving you 9 care points to spend on the care your horse needs. These points allow you to choose the services that best support your horse’s routine and needs.

If additional care is required beyond the included points, extra selections can be added to your booking at a clear, additional cost.

Before any Horse Care Visit begins, you will have an onboarding call to discuss finer details of your Horse Care Visit, while some bookings will qualify for an on-site onboarding visit, to ensure that the service is delivered with the highest level of care and attention to detail.

On the day of your Horse Care Visit all services will be undertaken efficiently and with attention to detail. Once the Horse Care Visit is complete you will receive an update (a text message sent straight to your phone). If there are any concerns during your Horse Care Visit you will be contacted immediately.

General welfare and water checks (for automated water sources) are included as standard. From there, you can use your points to choose services like feeding, rugging, turnout, or other care tasks — depending on what suits your routine. This system keeps visits flexible and transparent, while ensuring your horse receives consistent, thoughtful care.

While some owners want all the bells and whistles, some want just the necessities… both work! You get to customise your visit, your way.

Note: 1) Where products are required during a visit, these must be provided by the client. Care selections include the application of products, not product supply. 2) ‘Preparing feeds’ includes (up to) preparing 1 hay net, and 1 hard feed.

  • A ‘General Welfare Check’ involves observing your horse’s demeanour, behaviour, appetite, and responsiveness to their environment. It does not include a detailed physical inspection or hands-on assessment.

  • A Full Body Spot Check involves a thorough head-to-toe physical and visual assessment of your horse to ensure their overall health and wellbeing. This comprehensive check includes:

    • A hands-on physical assessment of the body

    • A detailed visual inspection of the entire horse

    • Examination of each hoof, including picking if required to clearly assess the sole

    • Assessment of the gums and mouth

    • Inspection inside the ears

    • Examination of the eyes

    • Checking under the tail

    This service is ideal for owners who value the highest standard of care and want complete confidence that their horse has been carefully assessed, both visually and physically, for total peace of mind.

  • In Her Horse Era serves clients in Adelaide and the surrounding regions, while some locations are within a ‘free’ travel radius, other locations incur a travel fee depending on distance. Check out the ‘Service Locations’ page to check if you’re area is listed.

  • Absolutely. In Her Horse Era is a fully insured mobile business. The safety of your horse (and our staff) is very important! If you require viewing our insurance certificate, send us an email.

  • Yes! While there is no limit on how many horses that can be cared for per visit. This will be dependent on your unique needs and booking availability (to care for larger amounts of horses).

  • In the event of an emergency, you will be contacted immediately to discuss the situation. With your consent, your nominated emergency veterinarian can be contacted, and we can remain on-site if you are unable to attend. If we are unable to reach you, your nominated emergency contact will be notified.

  • Yes. Your peace-of-mind matters. All Horse Care Visits include real-time updates, regarding welfare checks, and the daily routines. If anything is out of the ordinary, you’ll be notified as soon as possible.
